Your initial appointment will consist of a very thorough dental examination. We will take time to go over all of our findings with you, and you are encouraged to be involved in the comprehensive exam experience. A dental examination evaluates the muscles of the head and neck, teeth, jaw joints, gum tissue and your tongue, we also do an oral cancer screening at every appointment.
Upon completion of the exam, we will put together a treatment plan if there is any recommended treatment.
It is really important to our team that patients understand why treatment is being recommended and the heath benefits that are associated with improved oral health. It is not uncommon to hear our doctors discussing gastrointestinal conditions, autoimmune diseases and other health conditions with our patients. These conditions may be completely silent and may affect the oral cavity and the rest of the body, the mouth is the gateway to the rest of the body!
Prior to your appointment:
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your appointment:
- Any x-rays taken by a previous dentist, if recently taken.
- A list of medications you are presently taking.
- If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance information to your appointment. Although we are not contracted with dental insurance, we are still able to work with and file any PPO dental insurance policy for our patients.
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment
X-RAYS
If your previous dentist has taken recent x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our office.
